Richard Young began oil painting at the age of 12, studied hard, developed a talent and practiced in every spare moment, enjoying early regional competition success and media publicity for his work in the North of England. Fortunately, his tutors recognized his skill and encouraged him to undertake both Ordinary and Advanced level art exams a few years earlier than his peers, which he passed with the top grades. Predominantly figurative, the tendency of his artwork is towards carefully captured emotions and self belief of the subject, rather than characteristic individual representation. His ballerinas and flamenco / belly / tango dancers are passionate, emotional, atmospheric and come alive in their passionate performance, through an accurate lighting, shading and contrast study and its influence on any subject. These paintings with tango are mainly and obviously aimed at fans of this type of dance, but not exclusively. Their objective charm, arising from the intense relationship between man and woman through the dance, makes them highly recommended even for those who are looking for an image with a strong evocative power, without necessarily having to focus on love. I'm thinking of private places like bedrooms , bathrooms luxurious and habitable, cloakrooms, but also in luxury living rooms, 'cause of the very dark colors that recall relaxed atmospheres.
